SHEILA WONG
Despite the snowy evening, fashion-hungry crowds, undaunted by the elements, packed the Westin Bayshore ballroom to feast their eyes on the creative, innovative and fanciful designs created by the graduates of the 2006 Blanche Macdonald Fashion Design Program. The crowd ate it all up as the models strutted the students' collections on the dramatic catwalk, while media took notes on their fave designs.
In her review of the show, the Georgia Straight's Fashion Editor, Janet Smith, highlighted several stand-out collections. She had this to say about Design grad, Sheila Wong's collection:
"Two of Sheila Wong's creations were also showstoppers: one black silk charmeuse gown had a silvery koi hand-painted along it's rippling train, while a white satin strapless dress came festooned with a stiff ribbon "fan" over the chest and a thick black obi."

Sheila Wong is currently co-owner and designer for a local company called "Dim Sum Designs". Their concept is artwork on t-shirt canvases.
This menswear line was recently launched for the Fall / Winter 2006/2007 season and will be available at Boys' Co. on Robson Street.
Wong also works at Yates & Co. in the Fashion Exchange Building.
She assists in both their agency and importing business and she is also taking international business classes to get her business degree.
BMC applauds her drive, her energy, her creativity, and can't help but wonder if she ever sleeps?!
"The Directors and Instructors at BMC go beyond the call of duty to ensure the students receive the most of their education. I liked how the Design program is one year. It's fast-paced and keeps you on your toes. The more effort and creativity you put into your year at BMC, the more rewarding it will be when you graduate".
