Jaye Wong Klippenstein - International Marketing Director We are pleased to announce that Jaye Wong Klippenstein has taken on the role of International Marketing Director for the Blanche Macdonald Centre. Jaye is an exceptional individual who has worked with international clients worldwide. Her impressive credentials include Senior Director of Business Development for American Express where she worked with Fortune 500 companies, negotiated airline and hotel business etc., Vice President of Sales and Client Services for Thomas Cook International, and National Business Manager in the United States for the Continue Learning Network - Lawyers TV where she developed a client base that included the US Department of Justice and Time-Warner AOL. For the past few years, Jaye has been part of the Blanche Macdonald Admissions team. Jaye has an extensive background in the airline and travel industry and she understands her critical it is to build positive relationships. Cheryl Celenk – Associate Director, International Marketing After graduating from UBC with a BA in Speech Sciences Cheryl spent three years living and teaching in Japan, during which time she taught herself Japanese, and travelled and familiarised herself with the cultures of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
On her return to Canada Cheryl again embraced her passion for education, teaching at a private ESL school before becoming its Academic Director, where she gained nearly four years’ experience working on a daily basis with the study abroad industry, education agencies, international students and ESL speakers. Having experienced living, studying and working in a foreign country, Cheryl can closely relate and empathise with the challenges our international students can face. In addition to her expertise in Japanese, Cheryl has studied French, German and Spanish. She has also started to learn Turkish. Linda Vassey - Director Linda has been with the Blanche Macdonald Centre for over fifteen years. She has been at the heart of our school’s marketing efforts throughout her time here and has represented us at Education Agent events and International Student Fairs across Asia, Mexico, Great Britain and the United States. With her kind heart and tremendously positive energy, Linda is a beloved member of the Blanche Macdonald Centre team. Over the years Linda has opened up her home to dozens of international students and has become a much-loved homestay mom. Linda and her husband have three sons of their own, but she still counts her many homestay students as part of her extended family around the world.
