Internationally recognized for our fashion-forward curriculum and renowned training, we’ve been inundated over the years with thousands of inquiries from those who would like to access our professional training for more personal needs.
We’ve adapted and customized our curriculum into a specially condensed two-day Makeup Foundations Workshop. The Blanche Macdonald Centre has partnered with our sister company, our glamorous destination retailer CurliQue Beauty, to provide a two-day intensive Makeup workshop that will teach you the essentials of Makeup for personal application. This hands-on training will provide you with valuable expert feedback and instruction that will allow you to take meaningful steps in developing your beauty skills, confidence, and repertoire.

Workshop price: $690 + GST 5% = $724.50
Price includes a basic makeup kit which has a retail value of $200.

Jaylene McRae is a celebrated makeup artist, educator, and spokesperson.
A graduate of the Blanche Macdonald Centre, Jaylene has been a regular guest artist for CTV News showcasing beauty and bridal makeup trends, a featured artist on stage with the International Make-up Artist Tradeshow, a celebrated performer for TED X Vancouver, and is recognized as a leading educator and talent for MAKE UP FOR EVER, Thierry Mugler and our very own CurliQue Beauty.
As a proud Indigenous Sober, Two-Spirit transgender identifying person, she has the opportunity to inspire others to find the courage to also reveal their best selves. Jaylene feels that her life as an artist flows intrinsically with her journey of self-discovery. She is recognized as a supreme talent who has an incredible creative makeup repertoire from fashion editorial, special effects, and Drag. Whatever stage that she stands on as an artist or community leader she realizes that her presence and visibility are important.

Leah’s illustrious career as a Fashion Makeup Artist has led her to fashion capitals worldwide, from New York, London, Milan, and Paris, working backstage at runway shows for prolific designers like Balmain, Vivienne Westwood, Simone Rocha, Giambattista Valli, and Chloé. She has amassed endless fashion editorial credits working with top brands, designers and models and is recognized as a beauty industry expert.
Away from the runway, she’s brought her artistry to the Juno and Leo Awards, the Canadian Country Music Awards, and the Toronto International Film Festival. Somehow she finds the time to document her work and her views on today’s trends at her blog, Smudge Style.
As a prominent Makeup instructor within the Blanche Macdonald Makeup Artistry faculty, Leah has extensive instructional credentials including roles as a Senior Artist and Trainer for global brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Shu Uemura, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Jordy is a renowned fashion makeup artist who has developed a celebrity following in New York and Vancouver. His work has appeared in major fashion campaigns, runways and fashion magazines, including Vanity Fair, Elle, Cosmopolitan, and New York Magazine, to name a few. For Jordy, makeup artistry is a balance between personality, individuality, and creative flair. This philosophy allows him to develop wearable looks that cater to the specific needs of his clients, both high profile celebrities as well as the real women he works with. His lovable personality and passion for all things related to makeup has attracted a loyal red carpet following including Katy Perry, Jenna Dewan, Sienna Miller, Rosario Dawson, Alexis Bledel and countless others.

Schedule:
2-day Makeup Workshop, from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
Attendees must be 15 years old on the first day of the workshop.

Cancellation Policy
Masks: Masks will be mandatory to wear when you enter our space. We encourage you to bring your own personal mask.
Classroom Area: Class is conducted upstairs on the second floor at the Blanche Macdonald Atelier campus. Each attendee will have their own dedicated makeup area to set up their makeup station. There are large washroom facilities nearby on the same floor.
Tools To Bring: As you will be applying makeup on your own skin, we recommend bringing your own personal cloth and face wash products if you prefer to. There will be disposable makeup wipes provided if you forget. You’re more than welcome to bring your own personal makeup products to use during the workshop. We ask that you please refrain from sharing your personal products with other guests. Please bring a notebook and pen if you’d like to take down notes.
Makeup Kit: All other products will be supplied at your makeup station. Your brand new essentials makeup kit will be provided to you when you arrive to class.
Allergies: If you have any allergies to any beauty product ingredients, can you please notify the Instructors on the first day.
Valuables: As this is an open classroom environment, we suggest leaving your valuables at home. While the campus is a secure environment with an onsite security guard, the school is not responsible for any personal items that go missing.
