Dragon’s Den: Developing Estheticians as Entrepreneurs

Dragon’s Den: Developing Estheticians as Entrepreneurs

Education that leads to Employment + Entrepreneurship

Filling the atrium of Blanche Macdonald’s Atelier campus, the senior classes of the Global Esthetics program are abuzz with excitement, preparing to pitch their business ideas in the latest Esthetics Dragon’s Den presentation.

An extremely popular highlight for the students, each esthetics student group is tasked with formulating a unique beauty product and creating a beauty or skincare brand presentation that taps into their entrepreneurial spirit.

The judging panel for the event consists of a panel of industry experts, esthetics instructors, and top skincare experts – all of whom provide feedback directly to the students post-presentation. Not only are students able to draw from the panel’s extensive knowledge of the industry, but they also receive invaluable advice on their products and business vision during the Dragon’s Den presentation.

“One thing I’ve learned is that you can’t achieve anything alone. You have to do your part but the holistic work of the team, and how we learn from each other, is so important. At Blanche I’m here to support and empower my colleagues and students as we give each other space to shine.” - Simona Gozner, Esthetics Director

“Most of us go from walking into Blanche with no training whatsoever and we leave with jobs and so much potential. You definitely don't leave the same person that you were when you started the program.” - Yolanda Ruiz, Esthetics graduate (now Skincare trainer for skoah)
