Esthetics
Once a certified nursing assistant in California, Jas Sahota's move to Canada was truly transformative. Not only did she find a new city to call home, but she also discovered a new calling. Initially a client at Surrey's Beautiful Canadian Laser & Skincare clinic, Jas was inspired by clinic owner Dr. Shah to consider a career in Esthetics. 8 years later, Jas, a graduate of our Esthetics program, is still a fixture at Dr. Shah's clinic—only now she's the face behind the laser.
Tomoko Tajima's journey into the spa industry has been unlike any other. Touched by the kindness of Estheticians who provided joy to her family at their weakest point, Tomoko resolved to do the same for others. She left her career behind to become a Spa Therapist centred on compassion. Now she owns a thriving esthetics studio, Trinity Facial Spa, in Miyazaki, Japan.
Shortly after her arrival in Vancouver from Vietnam, Michelle St Denis began dreaming of owning a medi spa. With experience as a Laser Technician, Michelle was well aware of joy she felt from helping clients with their skincare concerns. Now, after graduating from Blanche Macdonald’s Esthetics program, Michelle has established ST Medi Laser and Skincare, where she lives out that dream on a daily basis.
Jojo Macuroy was on track to becoming a professional dancer when an injury changed the course of his life. After attending Blanche Macdonald he founded his own esthetics studio—Jojo Esthetics—in the Swiss enclave of Basel. Now his expertise, attention to detail, and ability to go above and beyond customer expectations has attracted clientele from all over Europe.
In her previous career as a Registered Nurse, Catherine Nordman had a proven knack for providing gentle care for her patients. Now in her new role at La Derma, Catherine has brought this same compassion to the world of Medical Esthetics.
Snuggled on a black leather sofa inside the stunning South Granville skin clinic, Project Skin, MD sit Christine Palylyk, Jennifer Bowles, and Gwen De La Costa. The posh neon sign above them reads “It’s Glow Time” and even though it’s barely 9am, the three Blanche Macdonald Esthetic grads are positively radiant - one even bears a striking resemblance to Catherine Zeta-Jones.
If life had turned out the way Tracy imagined, you’d be visiting her on the deck of a luxury cruise liner. But it was her piqued curiosity that got the better of her and forever set her life on a new path.
To be able to see and hear the Indian Ocean every morning is a truly inspiring awakening; its crystalline waves lapping at the white sand of the beach at Shangri-La’s spectacular Villingili Resort and Spa, in the tropical paradise of the Maldives.
