Esthetics
In honour of International Women's Day we're taking a look at a few of the many incredible women that started their journeys at Blanche Macdonald. From freelancers to salon and brand owners, the Blanche community has no shortage of brilliant and inspiring women.
Hair
From hair student to the owner of Honey Hair Lounge, Victoria Jazic's quest to find her passion has been a journey. A naturally creative soul, Victoria initially considered studying fine arts before deciding to pursue hair instead. She excelled in Blanche Macdonald's Pro Hair program, finding a position at Volume (Now Honey Hair Lounge) before she even graduated. Now just a few short years later she's worked her way up from rookie hairstylist to salon owner.
Humble and grounded, you won't find Barbering Instructor and Pro Hair grad Sandra Perovic boasting about her accomplishments...but that doesn't mean that she couldn't! Sandra has won numerous hair competitions across the globe, taking home trophies from the Mirror Awards and the Contessa Awards. She's even the first woman to take home the top prize from the American Crew World Barbering competition. Clearly Sandra has serious skills as a stylist. But despite all the evidence of her immense talent, Sandra is determined to continue learning and growing as a stylist. And she's dedicated to passing on her expertise to the next generation of barbers.
Meet our Pro Hair grad, Guardian of Love and Beauty at B-Bombshell Salon! A lover of South Park, Pokémon, Sailor Moon and competitive cheerleading, Jashper found his home at this New Westminster salon where he chose to do his work experience!
When we last caught up with Pro Hair Graduate Coco Manzano, the Philippines-turned-Vancouver native had taken on full-time hairstylin...
Driven by a desire to have an impactful hair career, Lara Dillman knew she needed to be where hair could be studied and appreciated. Polishing her professional self in the classrooms of Blanche Macdonald was the first step, perfecting her skills was the next. It wasn't long after that she landed in her first choice position at one of Vancouver's most prestigious salons, BRUSH.
Despite collaborations with major brands including H&M, Lululemon, Aritzia, and Hypebae Beauty, you'll never hear Erin Klassen bragging about her accomplishments. Humble through and through, Erin won't be the one to say it, but her monumental talent has earned her a place as one of Vancouver's premiere hair artists.
When she's not perfecting haircuts for her clients at Vancouver's Avant Garde salon, you can catch Stacey Paskall jetting off to share her talents with the rest of the world. She recently jetted off to London, UK, where her "Hairigami" stunned at the the internationally-acclaimed Alternative Hair Show.
Saskatoon barber Cody Dunbar has always had a passion for working with people. In fact, it was on a missionary trip to India where Cody, working alongside locals, discovered his passion for cutting hair. Now he's transitioned to a full time role in Bourbon Barbershop and Shave Club where he creates classic haircuts and personal connections everyday.
Ana Luisa Valdes always loved cutting hair. Now she gets to share that passion in her very own salon in Gastown, Flowstate.
